About AMAC

The Arab Mobile App Challenge 2014 (AMAC) is your opportunity to enhance your entrepreneurial skills, showcase your unique and innovative thinking and also win big!! This challenge is not only for people with technical skills, but for people with great ideas that can translate into viable apps. This year AMAC opens its doors to the Pan Arab region. We will be physically available to run bootcamps in countries and cities closest to you, but otherwise we will be providing you with all the possible assistance through remote acceleration, mentoring and support. Finalist teams will be invited to Regional Finals in January 2015. Some winning teams will be winning financial prizes, and some will be invited to go to Barcelona to compete in the Global Mobile App Competition during the Mobile World Congress, March 2015.

How to Register

If you answered YES to any of the questions above, then you should register your team to take part in this challenge. Please register your team details only once. We ask that the team leader from every team to enter your mobile app detail to avoid duplicate entries.

Once you register we will be inviting you to an acceleration event, and we will work closely with your team to develop this idea, and we will help you to eventually submit the following:

• A two minute video representation of the App concept and functionality.

• A PowerPoint presentation using the template provided to include:

1) solution to the problem you are solving

2) marketing strategy

3) operations

4) financials

AMAC 13 Winning Ideas

AMAC was designed as a learning experience for participating teams.
Loujee – The Arabic voice recognition educational toy designed for children. A child can interact with the Loujee in a number of ways, ranging from playing various games to telling jokes to simple stories by inserting an iOS device into the plush toy.
Crowd Analyzer – Social media monitoring application that can understand Arabic text automatically. It is a simple and easy to use mobile app where users can create alerts and track mentions around names, industries, brands, locations, events and news to get relevant real time feed and analytics from all over the social web, and act upon it.
Markabaty – Remove the hassle of car repair. A mobile application that will give car owners easy, stress-free way of obtaining relevant information about: Finding nearby trusted auto shop, troubleshoot their car problem before heading to the mechanic, track their car maintenance record, and track fuel and repair expenses.
Grand Fit - Offers a new reverse approach to type 1 diabetics. It’s the diabetics daily compaining assisting them to manage their injections within typing the meals they eat to provide them finally with the adequate insulin doses to inject.
ICAPS – The intelligent application that switches to user mobile profile in the right location and time. The app combines three mobile technologies together so that it determines the contexts around the user. Upon detecting the user’s context, the system intelligently switches between profiles that are either set up by the user, or have been provided by an external source.
The Pen – A new technique to improve writing and drawing capabilities on tablet devices of any users. This helps users that have struggled with touchscreen technology to be able to accurately and effectively write what they want without any hassles.
Baharat – Social network where food bloggers, chefs, and anyone interested in food or just wanting to find a recipe is now able to reach a community of food lovers that offer the options and know how to making your favourite foods at your fingertips.
Edutechnoz – is intelligent gamification of learning the Arabic language. A fun game for children (3-7 years old) that enables them to learn how to read (not just alphabets and vocab) in Arabic through series of adventures that utilize a creative curriculum. It is a world of purposeful fun to inspire kids to fall in love with Arabic!
